Italian born composer and pianist, Alfredo De Vecchis, studied piano at the Conservatorio A. Casella in L’Aquila with Claudio Gialdino Curti and composition at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome under Massimo Gianfreda and Rosario Mirigliano. He then continued his musical education at the Hochschule für Musik in Mannheim, studying under Sidney Corbett, Philipp Ludwig Stangl, Márton Illés, and Helmut Zapf.

He actively participated in master classes by influential figures in contemporary music, including Helmut Lachenmann, Stefano Gervasoni, Mauro Lanza, Alessio Elia, Hanspeter Kyburz, Daniele Ghisi, Fabien Lévy, and Giorgio Netti.

His compositions have earned international recognition, with first prizes in competitions like the “Andrea Ceraso” (She Lives, Rome), “Egidio Carella” (Fondazione Val Tidone Musica), and “Achrome Ensemble International Call for Scores 2022” (Achrome Ensemble, Milan). He also secured a second prize in the “Matan Givol competition” (Meitar Ensemble, Tel Aviv), and have been performed at various context and venues, including Osnabrück Theater, Magdeburg Theater, LAC Lugano, Budapest Music Center, Vienna Concert Hall, and the Heidelberger Frühling Festival. His works have been performed by renowned ensembles and performers, such as Divertimento Ensemble, Maria Grazia Bellocchio, and Marco Rizzi.

He served as Composer in Residence for the Landesjugendensemble Baden-Württemberg in 2020.
